A lot of exposure lately in the mainstream media, TV ads, etc. I've had people ask me about gadget too, people with iPhones! "Uh, how do you make music with this?" I think there's a strain of App (it'd be interesting to do an iOS Music App Genealogy/Periodic Table/ Evolutionary Diagram/Map, whatever) which makes it easy for the not-already-musician to make music with. I'm thinking Figure and similar apps. I guess here we're all people who have our iOS devices DEDICATED to making music with, but there's a growing number of people who are curious about just what else they can do with their phone/pad and have discovered an App which allows them to express themselves musically. Are we expecting a wave of new music from people who'd never thought of themselves as musical before? Will it be good music? Does that even matter? Personally, i think not - the way i see it, the more the merrier
