First post here. I'm a huge fan of Arpeggionome - I actually got both the iPad version and the iPhone version (with MIDI IAP) for $5 each when they went on sale before his prior update. $20 for the iPad version was just a bit too much of an ask, even if you like the app.
I loved the app immediately, but it can be difficult to use at times. My iPad 2 is showing its age, and to effectively record with the app, you probably need to be running all of the following simultaneously:
- AudioBus - Arpeggionome - Synth App controlled by Virtual MIDI (such as Sunrizer, Magellan, etc.) - DAW/recorder
That can be a lot of stress unless you have a newer device or increase latency. Sometimes, the CPU gets overwhelmed to the point where the arpeggio craps out mid-sequence. Also, switching from one base note to another is difficult to do with proper timing. There are times when I wonder if, as cool as the app sounds, if I'm doing things in more complicated fashion that could already be done completely within the arppegiator in an app like Magellan.
But the sounds that come out of it are undeniably cool, and it's a neat songwriting tool. I'm a fan.
